Passionate about fostering community and embracing local food and drink, Windswept Farm is a charming 100-acre property located at the entrance to the Bruce Peninsula in South Georgian Bay. With a deep-rooted philosophy of honoring real food and traditional practices, the farm's fertile soil is teeming with biodiversity, creating a unique terroir.
The land features wild seedling apple trees dotting its fieldstone hedgerows and an old homestead orchard with apples, plums, and rare wild pears. Through grafting hundreds of European and heirloom cider apple and pear trees, Windswept Farm celebrates the region's rich apple production history and aims to revive forgotten varieties.
Alongside these efforts, they have discovered an abundance of wild seedling trees that embody the characteristics sought after in cider, showcasing the beauty of the Georgian Bay region through bitterness, tannin, and complex aromas and flavours.
